Attitude

"The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past...We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you....we are in charge of our attitudes." -Charles Swindoll

SPRING

YES! :) Long, beautiful, sunny days are ahead of us! How amazing. Updates on life: I am thinking about attending a kirtan workshop... For anyone who has heard me sing before you are probably thinking to yourself that I am crazy... I am not exactly the best singer, i'm actually not even a decent singer. And so why the sudden urge to join some cool kirtan band? Well, kirtan is so very interconnected to yoga and why not delve deeper into my yogic path. Good voice or not, kirtan is a beautiful BEaUTIFUL way to connect deeper into my practice and to the universe. If you happen to see some blonde girl singing sanskrit off key that'll be me :) haha Besides my kirtan dreams, My teacher training co-lead days are slowly coming to an end, only 3 weeks left. I am so very thankful for the opportunity to serve others in a way that I have never done before. Being able to share my passion and knowledge with future yogi teachers is unlike anything else I have ever experienced. .Its so awesome to watch everyone learn and grow, not only that, but the community that we have created is wonderful! Today is my day off and I want nothing more than to take about 3 yoga classes today to make up for my lack of practice last week....Oh and maybe some beach time as well:).YESyesyes, Love and Light to all-Jans

Breathe!

Breath is essential to living and loving your spirit. In fact, your breath is your spirit! The air you take in gives you life. To breathe deeply is to calm your spirit and bring it into every cell of your body. One of the first things that occurs when you disconnect from your spirit and get entangled in the drama and confusion of the false ego self is that you stop breathing deeply. You tend to breathe shallowly instead, and even occasionally hold your breath altogether. When your body doesn't get adequate oxygen, it goes more deeply into fear and anxiety, thus creating a vicious cycle of self-debilitating negativity. Sooooo, to love your spirit-to live your spirit-you must BREATHE.

Beautiful Kirtan w/ Govindas and Radha
